Hello World...
You may have noticed there was no posting for last Tuesday. This is because I repeatedly tried to log into blogspot.com and it appeared to be down. So I said to myself, "what the heck. I'll just give it a few days."
And here we are a week later.
There isn't much new to report except...
The Ostara issue of Magickal Ink will be out soon...
Charlene's Crystal Nature website appears to be up and running...
The store's website, hopefully, will be up and running soon...
We're going to be featuring new herbs in the store including Job's Tears, Buckthorn Bark, Cascara Sagrada, Anise Seed (oddly enough *not* the same thing as Star Anise), Osha (Bear Root), Agrimony and Chicory. Oh wait. Or did I get the chicory for the coffee? Hmm. It's in Cunningham's Encyclopedia so I guess we'll bag it.
This weekend I was finally able to obtain some round, handheld drums. They're made of, I believe, a maple hoop with cow rawhide. They have tremendously good tone. And we will be able to get more if we need to!
We're going to be offering a Wicca Year and a Day class. Ed is taking registrations for this now (454 0187).
Rasa is offering an Intro to Tarot Class. It will be running Saturdays in March starting on the 10th. Call the store for details.
Fireside is this coming Friday. Dorothy Forster will be facilitating and the topic is, to paraphrase "if you go about magick dumbly, you will end up doing dumb magick". Or something to that effect. Sorry, I'm still a little tired from the weekend. Anyway, Fireside should be a thought provoking, good natured time.

Tuesday January 9th
News for this week:
We have finally (yayyy!) gotten the "storeinfo at wherefaerieslive.com" e-mail address working again. Feel free to drop us a line if you like. Many thanks to the wonderful web guru who is helping us out with this!
On a related note, it appears our domain e-mail service was hijacked at some point in the fall. If you received an e-mail from "accouting at wherefaerieslive.com" with regard to charity donations or offering to sell you an e-mail harvesting program, please report it as spam. Delete it. Stomp on it until it stops twitching. Do whatever you need to do but under no circumstances should you reply to it and don't do anything it says in the body of the e-mail.
We did NOT authorize this e-mailing and in fact have never had an e-mail address as "accounting". Apologies to anyone who received this. And I'm thinking some pretty unhappy thoughts in the direction of the person or persons who were responsible for these actions.
At any rate, work on the website is progressing well. We've gotten to see the preview and it's looking downright wonderful.
Next order of business: there will be a Fireside Chat this coming Friday. Yours truly will be facilitating. The topic will be Smudging with Sweetgrass, Sage, Tobacco and Cedar. I've been doing actual research on this and let me tell you I've discovered some pretty thought provoking things. We will be starting at 6pm sharp. And, as always, we request that you bring a cup if you are drinking tea (I really loathe doing dishes).
Lastly, we have had a pair of glasses kicking around the store for a really, really long time. If you lost a pair of glasses, say, last Spring or Summer, these might be yours.
Okay...really lastly...we are looking for people to facilitate for Fireside Chats. Drop us a line if you are interested in doing it. And we do have space available for anyone who would like to teach a class or two.

Tuesday January 2nd, 2007
Hello and welcome to the Where Faeries Live blog. This is where we will be posting some of the events, new happenings and other timely information as a companion to our website (which, as you may have noticed) is now under redevelopment.
It is my personal New Year's Resolution (well, one of them, anyway) to ensure that postings are made here on a weekly basis in order to keep people "in the know" about what's been going on at the store.
So here's the skinny so far:
1. We have a new Tarot reader. Her name is Rasa and she's doing readings at the store on Saturdays and certain Tuesdays. Terry is still reading for the store, however, she is doing so from home and is booking for every second and fourth Saturday and some Thursdays (call the store for more info). Anne, unfortunately, has moved on to other things and will not longer be reading for the store.
2. We would like to welcome Kelly to the store. She is a hypnotherapist and will be doing sessions in our back room. Stay tuned (or call the store) for more details on that.
3. Have you read any good books lately that you think we should carry at the store? We are currently in the process of redeveloping which books to carry on a regular basis and would appreciate input from the community on this.
4. Would you like to see your name in print? We are always looking for community related articles to publish in Magickal Ink. As well, advertising space is available.
5. A few weeks ago some not-so-nice person hacked into the storeinfo @ wherefaerieslive.com e-mail address and disabled it. Please do not use this to contact us. We are in the process of setting up new e-mail accounts and will share this as soon as it is done.
6. Well, while there is so much more to write, I've got to save some material or I'll have nothing to write about next week. So on that note, we wish you all the best in this new year!
