29 November 2008

Hello all...

As the participants of last night's Fireside can attest, we have acquired a Very Large Box of Nag Champa incense. I estimate it to be 8 cubic feet worth of the stuff.

The entire box is composed of 360 packages of 40 grams each of Nag Champa. It's fresh from Mumbai and arrived here in factory sealed condition.

What does this all mean?

On Saturday 6 December 2008, as part of our Open House, we will be offering this incense for sale at half price (reg. price $5, for Saturday only it will be $2.50 per box!)

If you want a lot, we're more than willing to accomodate (did I mention it was a Very Large Box?). A crate of 12 x 40 gram boxes is only $30. That's a lot of incense.

So it's been awhile since my last entry here - it's been busy times.

We discovered a portal in our back room. No, no...not *that* kind of portal (it'd be cool to access other dimensions but sadly this portal is of a much more mundane variety). Apparently there used to be double door between our back room and next door. We are considering reopening it. Should be interesting times.

Other news...the Open House is still a "go". And we are still planning to paint Dec 2 to 4th. Thank you everyone who has volunteered to help out. We *will* be in touch...

A new thing we are going to be doing at this year's open house is to have a live auction. I will attempt to be auctioneer (I will have to practice projecting my voice because I know I have a voice that carries like the whine of a mosquito on a warm night).

Things up for bid so far:
- a framed relic of Where Faeries Live (part of the old sign that was taken down)
- possibly the mural from the archway, provided we can remove it intact
- some crystal generators with some slight shop-wear
- a small box of crystal wands that had a little accident last year when a 2 pound garnet sphere took the plunge off the top shelf of the crystal cabinet and landed on them. Now there's twice as many wands - they're just smaller.
- a semiprecious stone and silver necklace handmade by Ed
- one of the first scrying mirrors into production by Where Faeries L ive (yes, we will be making them here now!)
- a gift basket of incense
- a package of our new "Yule" loose incense, only made here
- some Where Faeries Live bath salts

There will be other things, as I think of them. I will have them out for display at Fireside this coming Friday.

Proceeds from the auction will go to help us pay for renovations of WFL part II.

So it smells good in here...mostly because of mingled essential oils that dripped during bottling (it's still better than the last time, when I spilled a whole bottle of basil oil in the carpet. It made everyone who came into the back room crave pesto for weeks...)

On a related note: many of the oils we were "out" of have in fact now been bottled and are ready for sale. Lavender, Myrrh, Rosemary, Benzoin, and Altar Oil (among others) are all back in stock. Still out of Bergamot and Chamomile, sadly, but we're working on it and hope to have them available again soon.

We also recently got in a huge shipment of fairies...so now the Faerie Kingdom has been repopulated. In this order the supplier included a pamphlet with some new fairies...so stay tuned...

And...the book order has arrived (finally!). There are new titles we've never carried before. Keep note: we plan to expand our selection so if there's a title you would like to see us carry, feel free to drop us a line.

Lastly, we're planning an Open House on Saturday December 6th to celebrate the grand opening of our second half. On a related note, if anyone would like to help us paint Dec 2 to Dec 4 (payable in pizza and enormous gratitude), by all means give us a call!

So big news...

Our neighbours "The Leprechaun's Gold" have decided to shut down operations and as a result, Where Faeries Live will be expanding into their space.

Exciting times ahead...
