17 January 2010

...in the last few days it has come to light that some people have had a less-than-positive experience shopping at Where Faeries Live. Ed and I (Chris) have always worked to make our store a welcoming place for everyone and it grieves us that on occasion this has not been the case. To anyone who feels they have been given less than excellent customer service, we would like to talk to you about your experience and see if there is anything we can do to rectify it. Please contact me either by my direct e-mail at chris@wherefaerieslive.com or by phone at 780-454-0187.

My how times they are a-changing...

On Monday, we had an unexpected turnover in staff and have spent the last four days interviewing people. I cannot believe how many people submitted resumes, especially since all I did was post on Facebook and on our website. I also can't believe how incredibly hard it is to interview people, especially when there were so many excellent candidates.

Anyhoo...we've closed down the application process and I want to say "thank you" to everyone who applied. We're just hammering out details and will let people know tomorrow what's what.

Other news...
It's a new year and I'm getting the hankering to push furniture around. Don't be surprised if the layout at the Store changes again.

And finally, we have another new reader: Joshawa , who practices "psychometry", which is the art of fortune telling simply by grasping your hands. He also does tea leaf and palm reading. He will be coming in on Saturdays for the next few weeks. If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a line!

Hello everyone...

I hope you're all enjoying this break from the cold weather.

News from this end: thanks to the courageous efforts of Timmie, I now have a (very basic) grounding in HTML. I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to computer type things. I sometimes think the task she's taken on (explaining this stuff to me) is what it would be like to teach Fred calculus.

Work is progressing on the website and I already have herbs A through B finished. It's not connected to the site yet but as soon as I get the category finished, we'll launch that part of it. And then the next part and so on...

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the delay with the updates. That retail tsunami called "the Christmas shopping season" really made things interesting around here.

So in the news:

Elowynn (the Tarot reader) has moved on to bigger and better things. Currently we have nobody reading Tarot through the Store until Remie gets back from the Phillipines at the end of February. If you're thinking of getting a reading from Remie when she gets back, we strongly encourage you book now because I have a feeling she's going to be pretty busy.

Doug Lester has graciously agreed to do shamanic readings at the Store. Instead of cards, he uses stones and is able to divine a great deal using them. He will be here this coming Friday from 11 am to 2:30 pm. His readings run either 45 minutes ($45) or 1.5 hours ($80). Feel free to call the Store at 780-454-0187 to book an appointment.

If you're interested in learning more about Doug's readings, his blog is at: http://shamanstones.blogspot.com.

Other news: we are (honestly!) working on the site. Timmie (our great grand guru of the web) has designed the template and we're working feverishly to get this done. Thank you everyone for your (continuing!) patience!
