19 June 2008

Wow how the time flies. I had no clue it's been so long since I blogged. Apologies. I really am trying to do this at least once a week...

Anyway...

As I write this Fred is at the vet awaiting surgery. He wasn't too happy to be there - as the vet's assistant was leading him away with a blue rope around his neck (I think it was actually one of those special nooses cowboys use for roping calves and that isn't surprising since the theme of Spruce Grove - where the vet is - apparently is "country")

The other weirdness about the place, at least today, is that every single other dog there was a sheltie. You haven't lived until you've spent time in a waiting room with a bunch of hopped-up collies.

At any rate, I'll keep you posted as to the results of the surgery.

It is very strange to be here at the store without Fred.

In other news...

We just got in a large number of wooden boxes, many carved with pentacles and various floral motifs and sized to fit the average deck of tarot cards. Also we have received for the first time this year stick incense holders made of glass. And a number of small gifty type items too numerous to mention (also, I haven't had a chance to dig to the bottom of the box and I ordered the stuff so long ago I forget what's in there so it's a little like Christmas)...

The book ordering is (finally!) back onto a proper schedule. Look for more new titles as I will be adding to our collection again...

Events of note:

The Congregationalist Wiccan Assembly of Alberta is having a Midsummer Faerie Frolic Storytelling circle and Midsummer Celebration (read: picnic) this coming Saturday at 6 pm at Borden Park (just south of the Coliseum). Copy reads: Bring your children, your parents, your lawnchairs and a picnic supper. Join us to tell stories and sing songs around the fire as we watch the full moon rise. We will build the an altar to the Wee Folk and invite them to join us. Everyone is welcome and there is no cost to attend. Faerie Protection charms provided. For more info call 490-5242 or visit insula.com/cwaa/Main.html

The CWAA Women's Mysteries will be happening in our back room on Sunday July 5th from 2 - 4 pm. Topic: Self-esteem: expectations and realities in today's world. For more info contact sokende_sanndru@yahoo.ca.

Note: the CWAA Men's Mysteries is on hiatus until further notice.

And finally, we have AuKeeRa Rayne's schedule pinned down. She will be coming to the store from June 26 to June 29th.

She will be doing her own style of psychic readings on Thursday June 26, Friday June 27 and Sunday June 29. She is handing her own bookings so if you would like to schedule an appointment, please get in touch with her at aukeera@sasktel.net. You can also check out her website at www.aukeera.com.

On Friday June 27 she will be facilitating a workshop that includes a deep meditation and a talk about finding our voice within. It starts at 6 pm and goes to about 8 pm.

On Saturday from 1 pm to 3 pm she will be doing a book signing to promote her new work "Journey - a Journal for Life" as well as her existing book "From Above with Love - Basic Knowledge One".

I encourage everyone to come down and meet AukeeRa. She's a fascinating person with some really great insights.
